Piola and Tiramisu have something very dear in common: they were both born in Treviso, Italy. Tiramisu means “pick me up”. It comes from the Treviso dialect “Tireme su”, which became Tiramisu in Italian in the latter half of the 20th century. Tiramisu has since traveled the world and delighted scores of dessert lovers.
